About the event

A little more than two months after the violent storm that hit the Alto Garda area, the Vittoriale degli Italiani opens its autumn season by presenting its recovery work: four new exhibitions, the Foresteria Il Convento for scholars and guests, and the replanting of cypresses felled by the storm in the Parco dannunziano.

Also presented are the current state of the recovery work under way, the first results of the Art Bonus project with updated donation figures, the solidarity initiatives launched to support the Vittoriale (including one promoted by the Abruzzo region), and the conclusion of the "Vittoriale da vivere" project, produced with Fondazione TIM using immersive technologies and Virtual Reality content.

The four exhibitions, open until 7 March 2027, are: Magia Libertina by Claudio Vino, on the feminine universe in d'Annunzio's world; Luz herida – Luce ferita, a photography exhibition by Tomás Quiroga; Adolfo Wildt e Gabriele d'Annunzio, drawings by Anna Cerofolini; and La notte ha la sua via by Naby, inspired by d'Annunzio's Contemplazione della morte.

Getting to Gardone Riviera

The nearest railway stations are Desenzano del Garda and Brescia. Arriva's RL202-1 (Brescia – Salò – Gargnano, every half hour) and LN027 (Salò – Gargnano – Limone – Riva) run along the shore road through Gardone, and the local LN005 goes Salò – Gardone Riviera – San Michele with a stop at the Vittoriale entrance. Gardone is also a Navigazione Laghi ferry stop.

Ferry: Regular Navigazione Laghi stop between Salò and Maderno; the Maderno–Torri car ferry, a crossing of about 30 minutes, is the nearest way to take a car to the east shore.

About Gardone Riviera

Gardone Riviera grew from a farming village into a winter health resort from the 1880s, when Luigi Wimmer built the Grand Hotel Gardone and doctors praised the mild climate; Central European families followed with villas until the First World War. That belle-époque layer still shapes the lakefront along Lungolago D'Annunzio.
