Slow Gargnano

About the event

Slow Gargnano is two days dedicated to the typical products of the local area, held at the Chiostro di San Francesco and Palazzo Feltrinelli (the university site).

On Saturday, October 3, there is a tasting of local typical products at the Chiostro di San Francesco from 10:00 to 17:00, followed at 17:30 by a talk at Palazzo Feltrinelli titled "I prodotti dell'Alto Garda da San Francesco ai giorni nostri in un viaggio storico, paesaggistico e gastronomico".

On Sunday, October 4, the Chiostro di San Francesco hosts "Verso il mercato della Terra", dedicated to local products and to the agricultural and gastronomic value of the area, from 9:00 to 17:00. Guided walks to the lemon houses and olive groves of Gargnano depart from the Chiostro between 10:00 and 14:00. The day closes at 18:00 at Palazzo Feltrinelli with an aperitivo featuring local products and a concert at sunset.

Getting to Gargnano

The nearest railway station is Desenzano del Garda, connected to Gargnano by Arriva bus LN027 (Desenzano – Salò – Gargnano – Limone – Riva del Garda); line RL202-1 runs Gargnano – Salò – Gavardo – Brescia. By car, leave the A4 at Desenzano del Garda and follow the Gardesana Occidentale north via Salò. Local Arriva lines LN011, LN012 and LN015 start in Gargnano for Tignale, Limone/Tremosine and the Valvestino villages.

Ferry: Navigazione Laghi boats call at both Gargnano and Bogliaco on the west-shore route between Desenzano and Riva.

About Gargnano

Gargnano is a lakeside village on the Brescian shore made up of a compact harbour centre and the lakefront hamlets of Bogliaco and Villa, with olive groves and old lemon houses on the slopes behind.
