Rodari Connection: A Gianni Rodari Show

About the event

Rodari Connection reinterprets Gianni Rodari's Favole al telefono (Telephone Tales) for adults and children, combining storytelling, improvisation, electronics and acoustic writing.

The show moves between music, theatre and poetry, building small scenes about play, reflection, childhood and unease. Valentina Fin performs voice and saxophone, Federica Furlani plays viola and electronics, and Domiziano Maselli creates the live visuals, under the artistic direction of Camilla Monga.

After the show, the artists take part in a meeting about the relationship between storytelling and sound dramaturgy.

Getting to Garda

By car, the A22 exit Affi – Lago di Garda Sud is a short drive away. The nearest railway stations are Peschiera del Garda and Verona Porta Nuova: ATV line 483 runs from Peschiera via Lazise and Bardolino, lines 162–165 come from Verona, and line 484 continues north to Malcesine and Riva. Garda is also a major Navigazione Laghi stop.

Ferry: One of the busiest stops on the Desenzano–Riva line, with frequent boats north to Malcesine and Riva, south to Bardolino, Lazise and Sirmione, and some fast services with supplement.

Parking: The historic centre is a pedestrian area with an access permit system for authorised vehicles; the Baia delle Sirene at Punta San Vigilio has a large paid car park among the olive trees.

About Garda

Garda takes its name from the Lombard word warda, a guard post, and in turn gave it to the whole lake. The fortress that stood on the Rocca di Garda above town is where Queen Adelaide of Burgundy was held prisoner in the 10th century; today the hill is a short hike with views over the bay.
