About the event
For the European Heritage Days 2026 and a historical reenactment, free guided tours run on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September at the monumental complex of the former Caserma La Rocca and the Rocchetta Scaligera, in Piazza Ferdinando di Savoia.
The site was the apex of the city's defensive system and is mentioned by Dante in the Divine Comedy. Its spaces are currently being restored and will house the new civic museum, along with the reopening to the public of the walkways and gardens on the Venetian walls.

Getting to Peschiera del Garda
Peschiera del Garda station is on the Milan–Venice railway, with regional and fast trains from Verona, Brescia and Milan. By car, use the Peschiera del Garda exit of the A4. Navigazione Laghi boats connect Peschiera with Sirmione, Desenzano and the eastern shore, and a shuttle runs from the station to Gardaland.
Ferry: Peschiera is the south-eastern terminus of the Navigazione Laghi network (Peschiera–Riva is one of the day-pass zones); no car ferry.
