Getting to Moniga
The nearest railway station is Desenzano del Garda; by car, leave the A4 at Desenzano and follow the lake road through Padenghe. Arriva bus LN007 (Padenghe – Moniga – Manerba – Salò) serves the village, and the R-Link RL204 Desenzano–Salò runs nearby. In summer a few Navigazione Laghi boats a day call at Moniga.
Ferry: Summer-only stop with a handful of boats a day on the Desenzano–Riva service.
About Moniga
Moniga del Garda calls itself the town of Chiaretto, the pale rosé of the Valtenesi made from the local Groppello grape with only a brief contact with the skins – a method credited to Pompeo Molmenti. Since 2008 Moniga has hosted Italia in Rosa, a national festival of rosé wines, and the slopes behind the village are lined with small wineries and olive groves.
