Chestnut Festival at Monte Corno di Nago

On Sunday 11 October 2026, the Associazione Castagneto Monte Corno di Nago holds its traditional chestnut festival on Monte Corno di Nago, with a guided hike, lunch and free shuttle buses.

The historical-nature hike, led by M. Zattera and A. Marsilli, leaves the Castagneto at 9:30 for Busa dei Capitani and the surrounding trenches, with return expected around 12:00-12:30.

From 12:00, lunch is served: sandwiches with Carne Salada, mortadella spread, würstel and cheese, plus dessert or chestnuts, with wine, beer and soft drinks. There is no booking for lunch; food is served until stock runs out.

Free shuttle buses run for anyone who has trouble walking up: one for the hike, leaving Torbole at 8:45 and Nago at 9:00 (booking recommended by phone), and a separate one for lunch, running from Torbole and Nago between 11:00 and 12:00, with return around 16:00. Driving up in a private vehicle is not allowed. The event is cancelled in bad weather.

Getting to Nago-Torbole

Take the A22 exit Rovereto Sud/Lago di Garda Nord and the SS240 to Nago, where the road drops to Torbole. Trentino Trasporti buses run from Rovereto station to Torbole, Riva and Arco. Torbole is also a stop on the Navigazione Laghi boat line to Riva, and cycle paths link it with Arco and Nago.

Ferry: Stop on the Navigazione Laghi line between Riva del Garda and Limone/Malcesine and the southern lake; not every run calls here, so check the timetable.

About Nago-Torbole

Nago-Torbole is two villages in one municipality: Torbole on the shore at the mouth of the Sarca, and Nago on the rocky shelf above it, where the road from Rovereto first reaches the lake.
