Nago-Torbole is two villages in one municipality: Torbole on the shore at the mouth of the Sarca, and Nago on the rocky shelf above it, where the road from Rovereto first reaches the lake.
Torbole is built around a small harbour lined with coloured houses and fishing boats, overlooked by the 18th-century Casa del Dazio, the old Austrian customs house. Goethe stopped here on 12 September 1786 and wrote part of his Iphigenia at the local inn; a plaque marks the house.
The shore on either side is given over to windsurf, wingfoil and sailing schools, with lawned beaches such as Al Cor and Lido Blu. Up in Nago, the Marmitte dei Giganti are glacial potholes beside the panoramic road, and the ruins of Castel Penede look out over the northern lake. The old Strada di Santa Lucia climbs through olive trees between the two.
Torbole suits windsurfers and wingfoilers first of all, but also cyclists on the Sarca and Nago cycle paths and walkers heading onto the northern slopes of Monte Baldo.

Porticciolo di Torbole and Casa del Dazio
Torbole's small harbour with fishing boats and coloured houses, overlooked by the 18th-century Austrian customs house.
Marmitte dei Giganti
Glacial potholes carved by meltwater and stones, beside the panoramic road between Nago and Torbole; the area was inhabited in the 4th–3rd millennium BC.
Castel Penede
Ruined castle on a rock above Torbole, first recorded in 1210 and fought over by the Arco, Castelbarco and Venice, with wide views of the northern lake.

- Take the A22 exit Rovereto Sud/Lago di Garda Nord and the SS240 to Nago, where the road drops to Torbole.
- Train and bus
- Trentino Trasporti buses run from Rovereto station to Torbole, Riva and Arco. Torbole is also a stop on the Navigazione Laghi boat line to Riva, and cycle paths link it with Arco and Nago.
- By boat
- Stop on the Navigazione Laghi line between Riva del Garda and Limone/Malcesine and the southern lake; not every run calls here, so check the timetable.
