49th Trentino International Ornithological Show (Garda Aves Show)

About the event

The Associazione Ornitologica Trentina APS (AOT APS) organises the 49th edition of the Garda Aves Show, one of the most important ornithological events at national and international level, from 21 to 25 October 2026 at the Quartiere Fieristico on Via Baltera.

The association brings together breeders and bird enthusiasts to encourage the breeding of canaries, hybrids and indigenous birds that can be kept in captivity, and promotes ornithological-naturalistic education in schools.

The event brings together over 200 breeders and exhibitors and more than 3,500-4,000 competing birds, with international judges on the jury. AOT APS has submitted a request to the Confédération Ornithologique Mondiale (C.O.M.) for official recognition and the award of the European Championship for the GH sections, dedicated to European fauna and its hybrids.

On Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October there will also be an exhibition/exchange of cage and aviary birds, open to any breeder in compliance with health and animal welfare regulations. A training meeting for breeders on breeding techniques and regulations concerning European fauna is also planned.

Getting to Riva del Garda

By car, leave the A22 Brenner motorway at Rovereto Sud/Lago di Garda Nord and follow the SS240 for about 17 km to Riva. The nearest railway station is Rovereto, with regular Trentino Trasporti buses to Torbole, Riva and Arco; from the south you can also take the train to Desenzano, Peschiera or Verona and continue on ATV buses up the east shore. Ferries run from Desenzano and Peschiera via Malcesine and Limone.

Ferry: Northern terminus of the Navigazione Laghi (Navigarda) line from Desenzano and Peschiera, calling at Torbole, Limone and Malcesine; some summer runs are fast services with a supplement.

Parking: Parts of the historic centre are a limited traffic zone (ZTL). Paid car parks run by Altogarda Parcheggi e Mobilità include Terme Romane (Viale Pilati, 205 spaces), Ex-Agraria (Via Lutti, 218 spaces), Vecchia Stazione, Parco Lido and the Blue Garden car park on Viale Rovereto; free parking at the former hospital (Largo Marconi) and on Via delle Ginestre.
