About the event

"La donna elettrica" is screened as part of the series "Non solo di marzo: non guardarmi, incontrami", promoted by the Tavolo intercomunale contro la violenza di genere at the Comunità di Valle Alto Garda e Ledro.

The film follows Halla, a single woman of about fifty who directs a small choir in Iceland. Behind her unremarkable life she hides a secret: she is the eco-terrorist that the government and the press have been hunting for months, over repeated sabotage against the steel multinationals threatening her country's land.

Halla does not stay home. She acts, aiming high — literally firing arrows at national industry in an attempt to reach the conscience of politicians and her fellow citizens.

Getting to Dro

From the north, leave the A22 at Trento Nord and follow the SS45bis south through the Valle dei Laghi and the Sarca valley; from the south, exit at Rovereto Sud/Lago di Garda Nord and drive towards Arco, continuing north up the valley. The nearest railway stations are Trento and Rovereto, both with Trentino Trasporti bus connections to Garda Trentino. A cycle path runs along the Sarca from Arco towards Fies.

Parking: In Dro there is parking on Via Battisti, Piazza Garibaldi and Via Capitelli, the side streets around Piazza Repubblica.

About Dro

Dro sits in the Sarca valley a few kilometres north of Arco, where the valley floor is buried under the Marocche: a vast chaos of limestone blocks left by post-glacial landslides, now a nature reserve with scattered dinosaur footprints discovered in 2000.
